Whats wrong with using a 3PL in the Van Line Industry?
Here are 3 simple things you should know before you use a broker for Van Line Shipping.
1) Most Van Lines do not offer services to transportation brokers. This means that a broker could be using a van line, but the van line does not have the knowledge that the broker is not then end customer. Many van lines specifically regulate this portion of business. In these cases the Van Line will not honor the brokers claims and may pursue damages.
2) Brokers are not agents of the Van Line they use. This means that if you have a problem or need an answer, the broker must relay your quesiton to the agent they work with. Communication takes longer and often times gets distorted in the process.
3) Beacause the Nature of Van Line business is Low Volume and High Value, shipping prices are higher and service is higher. When you use a broker you sacrifice alot of service and quality for a very small savings, and in some cases you may be paying MORE!!!
