ST. LOUIS, Sept. 23, 2004 – St. Louis-based Mayflower Transit has been chosen by California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to help in his major effort to move businesses back to his state. The Governor and the California Commission for Jobs and Economic Growth have invited businesses to return by offering to pay their moving costs. The Governor enlisted the help of Mayflower agent Total Transportation Logistics, Inc., in Ontario, Calif., to get the job done. “It is exciting to think that a St. Louis-based company is helping to boost the economy of the state of California,” says Carl Walter, vice president of marketing for Mayflower Transit. “Mayflower certainly has the experience to lend Gov. Schwarzenegger some moving muscle to bring businesses back to California. We are honored to be a part of this initiative.” Mayflower used special Schwarzenegger-branded trucks to move a printing company from Las Vegas back to La Verne, Calif. Mayflower Transit transports electronic equipment, trade show exhibits and displays, works of art, and specialized freight, in addition to household goods, utilizing a network of 700 affiliated agents throughout the United States and around the world. Mayflower’s headquarters offices are located in suburban St. Louis, Mo. Further information about the company is available on its Internet site -- www.mayflower.com.
